85% is a B (3.0 GPA) on the standard US grading scale. The B range covers 83–86%.
75% is a C (2.0 GPA). The C range is 73–76%. It is a passing grade in most educational settings.
90% is an A- (3.7 GPA). To reach a full A, you need 93% or above. A+ is reserved for 97% and above at most schools.
70% is a C- (1.7 GPA). It is technically a passing grade, but many university programs require at least a C (73%) to count toward a major.
